PSY 3060 Ohio Christian How Sample Size Influences Research Outcomes Discussion
Question Description
Examine the t-Test computations of dependent samples.
In statistics, the t-Test is used when we know the mean but do not know the standard deviation of the population. It is also used when comparing two groups to each other. Just as with the z statistic, the standard deviation for scores needs to be translated into a measure of variability of means, or a measure of standard error.
- Read Chapter 11 and 12 in your text.
- Watch the video about interpreting test statistics. Test Statistics: Crash Course #26: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ7kgmhdIwA&list=PL8dPuuaLjXtNM_Y-bUAhblSAdWRnmBUcr&index=27
- Discuss the consequences of a sample size that is too large or too small. How does the t-Test evaluate these problems? Give examples to your peers of how this applies to your own milestone research. (It definitely does!)
