Introduction/Background (1-2 pages): provide background information on the disease of listeria or listeriosis (10 pts)

(single space, 1” margins on all sides) with complete citations and English grammar is correct.

• Opening paragraph describing the public health importance of the disease (i.e.. morbidity,mortality, potential for spread) and importance of a systematic review (i.e. explain why the reviewis needed and if other reviews have been conducted and briefly describe their results)

• Information on the organism/agent(s)

• Information on the disease (i.e.. risk factors, typical symptoms, incubation period, period ofcommunicability, reservoir, mode of transmission, and treatment)

• Descriptive epidemiology of the disease (describe how disease incidence and mortality aredistributed by person, place, and time). This will comprise the largest portion of theIntroduction/Background section. Be sure to include data!
