LVCC Game DEV Corporation Employees Are Forced to Work Overtime Argumentative Paper
Question Description
I’m working on a writing discussion question and need a sample draft to help me study.
This paper should consist of the following: Claim, Explanation of the Claim, Reasons For, Reasons Against the claim, Decision, Rebuttals
Has to be 6-7 pages double spaced, standard margins, 12pt font, Times New Roman. THIS PAPER SHOULD CONSIST OF ORIGINAL THOUGHTS AND ARGUMENTS
Declarative statement (claim) should be on one video game company or a game development corporation that forces its employees to work mandatory overtime hours.
An example of a claim would be: At Electronic Arts, the video game company, employees are being exploited by the company they work for.
Then for the explanation of the claim, mention how the employees are forced to do this because they are overworked since they have to test and fix so many little problems before launch before they give a finished product to the consumer.
Example of the explanation for the claim would be: Employees at Electronic Arts are overworked and not compensated for working overtime since they have to test and fix so many little problems before launch to give a finished product to the consumer.
Next comes the reasons for the claim. Provide at least FOUR reasons for the claim, and write a paragraph for each claim. Make sure these reasons are all moral reasons. Do not write about laws, write strictly on why it is morally incorrect for the company to be doing such an immoral thing. Each claim should be labeled as such: (1), (2), (3), (4).
Next, you have to write about reasons against the claim. Here you step into the shoes of your hypothetical opponent and think of reasons why your claim doesnt hold. Each reason against the claim should be numbered with Roman numerals (I), (II), (III), (IV). You should provide at least four reasons against your claim. Each reason should consist of a full paragraph.
After, comes the decision. At this point in the paper you must decide which set of reasons (i.e., Reasons For or Reasons Against the Claim) is a stronger set. You must explain why you think a particular set of reasons is stronger. This part must be a full paragraph rather than a couple of sentences.
Lastly, is the rebuttal. Here you will provide a counter argument against each reason in the set of reasons that you found to be weaker (in the Decision part of the paper). For example, if you found Reasons For the Claim to be a weaker set of reasons, you must counter-argue against (1), (2), (3), (4). Conversely, if you found Reasons Against to be a weaker set, you must counter-argue against (I), (II), (III), (IV). Make sure each counterargument is a paragraph long.
Thank you and please do not hesistate to reach out of you have any questions 🙂
