Literary Research Paper/ Annotated Bibliography AssignmentIn this course you will complete a Literary Research Paper with an AnnotatedBibliography that deeply analyzes one or two (or more) of the texts that we haveread in this course (poetry, fiction, drama, or creative nonfiction). You may NOTanalyze any texts that you have already focused on for a previous poetry or fictionessay. For example, if your poetry essay covered the works of Terrance Hayes, hispoetry cannot be the subject your Literary Research Paper and AnnotatedBibliography. This is a single assignment that is broken up into two parts and accounts for 30%of your grade in this course. The first part of this assignment is the AnnotatedBibliography. An Annotated Bibliography consists of a list of the sources that youare using in your research. The list is initially structured in the same way that youwould organize an MLA formatted Works Cited page, but each citation includes abrief summary and evaluation of the source (See Sample Annotated Bibliographyposted in Moodle). You are required to cite a minimum of five sources, but notmore than ten. The sources that appear in your Annotated Bibliography MUSTalso appear in your research paper. Your source material may come from theinternet. The most academic and credible material is often found through BloomsLiterature, JSTOR, or GALILEO. Try to use the latest published material ifpossible. The Literary Research Paper should be at least 7 full pages in length (not includingthe Works Cited page), but no longer than 10 pages and double-spaced, and use a12-point, Times New Roman font. As you write your paper, please use thefollowing considerations as a guide:? Content: Your essay should reflect an understanding and interpretation ofthe assignment (demonstrate that you know what I am talking about)? Development: Your essay should give a clear and logical explanation ofideas, using supporting material (what you are talking about makes senseand you back it up with examples and details)? Organization: Your essay shows a coherent, orderly, well-reasonedapproach. (its not all over the place)? Language: Your essay uses effective vocabulary and varied sentencestructure (remember that you are writing for your English instructor, nottexting your friend)
