Agood summary accurately describes the main point(s) and importantdetails of the piece. In order to be accurate and concise the writermust be thoroughly familiar with the original work. If too long, asummary may be paraphrasing the original work, but if too short,important details may be left out.

Assignment Expectations:

1. The summary should be at least 175 words in length, have references APA style and at least 12 font.
2. All vocabulary words must be underlined.
3. Pay attention to grammar, punctuation, style, clarity, and spelling.
4. There should not be any two assignments that look exactly alike, if so both or all will be given a grade of 0.

Hints

• Read and reread content as many times as necessary to gain a full understanding of it.

•No first person statements allowed. Opinions are not needed here. Forexample, “I thought the part about radioactivity was reallyinteresting.”

•Always name the author and chapter title in the introductory paragraph,usually in the first or second sentence. From then on refer to authorby last name.

• Always use present tense to discuss the chapter and facts from the chapter.

• Use direct quotes or paraphrase examples to support claims.

• When referring to the chapter or videos always capitalize the title and place it in quotation marks. Do not use italics.
