GCU Wk 2 The Efficacy and Use of Miralax Golytely & Suprep Colon Prep Capstone

I am choosing to do my capstone project on the efficacy and use of miralax colon prep vs. GoLytely vs. Suprep colon prep in the outpatient setting at my hospital. Our surgeons are using the miralax bowel prep and we are not seeing good results.The colons are not prepped adequately, the patients do not understand the confusing, drawn out instructions and thens ome choose to just not follow the instructions and do what they want. The GI doctor I worked with used Suprep and if a patient could not afford that then he used Golytely. The problem with using Suprep is the cost of it despite insurance. I believe my capstone topic will fall under community and also be a clinical practice problem and can also fall under a quality improvement initiative. I work in a hospital environment in the OR and our surgeons are now doing the GI cases.
