1. No matter where you plan to practice speech therapy, you will always experience cultural diversity in your client load. First, briefly reflect on what it means to be culturally competent. Then, reflect on the role of cultural competence when serving certain patient populations, such as transgender patients, those who speak English as a second language, those with differing religion from you, or other populations you have considered.
