This assignment is designed to help you reflect on the assignments and experiences completed this semester.

Complete the following in one word document:

Page 1: Log on to Handshake and find a position that interests you and aligns with your post-graduation plans. (remember those career ladders!) Paste a screenshot from handshake of the position the position description into a Word document.

Page 2: Write a letter of recommendation from the perspective of your supervisor about yourself that touches on key qualifications/preferences indicated in your selected position description.
Include at least ONE COMPLETE STAR behavioral example in the letter.

Page 3: Identify areas for personal/professional growth that fall under the categories on the “Career Development Path” document. Create a one paragraph professional development plan to achieve these goals (consider the leadership/engagement opportunities learned this semester).

Expectations/Outcomes: A portfolio is a job-hunting tool that you develop that gives employers a picture of who you are—your experience, your education, your accomplishments, and your skills. Not only does it show the employer who you are, but it also displays what you have the potential to become. It is designed to do one thing—to support you as you market yourself! As you start your journey here at FIU, it is valuable to have a professional development plan. This assignment introduces the expectations of your career portfolio and challenges you to reflect on yourself from the perspective of both a supervisor and potential employer.
