THE NORTH AMERICAN PHALANXFrom 1844 to 1856 one of the most successful of all American utopian experiments of all time flourished in Colts Neck, just across the reservoir next to Brookdale Community College. As you travel out the college exit onto Phalanx road, and make a right to head towards Colts Neck, after crossing the bridge there the land that was the Phalanx comes up on your left and right away, on your right. There is a little gully there that was once a lake, and the area that has houses now on it was once were all the main buildings were.
