Identify the three best potential funders (via grants.gov, the Foundation Directory, Guidestar, etc.) based upon the good fit criteria such as mission (if you do not represent a nonprofit organization, this would be your idea that you have identified in the need statement), program areas, and eligibility (you can assume that you will create a nonprofit organization with a 501 C(3)).
Review the funders guidelines (deadlines, program areas, priorities, etc.) and programs thoroughly and their I-990 PF forms (grantees and their grant amounts). You may find I-990 forms on each foundation’s website or http://foundationcenter.org/find-funding/990-finder
For this particular assignment, you may copy some of the funders’ content and information directly such as their missions.
