Funder’s guidelines are very important when you search for potential funders and prepare grant proposals.

See this example:

“The director of philanthropy at an international technology company told the audience at a grant writing conference that 80 percent of the proposals submitted to the company failed to meet the eligibility requirements published in the guidelines. Organizations turned in proposals that were outside the funder’s geographic boundaries, fields of service, and budget sizes; eligibility requirements that were clearly articulated and widely accessible. She said, ‘it’s hard to be generous with people who don’t pay enough attention to see what we care about!'” (Howlett and Bourk, 2011, p. 77).

For this discussion, respond to the following:

Search for some grant-making foundations. Find important eligibility and other requirements. Discuss the foundations: What interesting requirements do they have?

Remember to include in your discussion a clear linkage to at least the following learning objective: Identifying the sources of grants and prospective funders (LO3).

Your initial discussion posts should be at least 250 words. You will also need to respond to at least two of your classmate’s posts.

Also, make sure your responses are substantial and consist of at least 100 words in order to receive full credit.
