University of Missouri Kansas City Poverty on Academic Achievement Bibliography
Question Description
Annotated Bibliographies
Annotated bibliographies help writers organize their sources and are useful when it comes to writing your paper. Annotated bibliographies should do three things:
- Summarize: In 1-2 sentences, describe the main points of the article.
- Assess or evaluate a source: In 2-3 sentences, comment on the sources usefulness, if its objective or biased, and the authors motivation or goal behind writing this source.
- Reflect on the sources possible uses for the project at hand: In 1-2 sentences, consider the usefulness of the source to your own research. How do you plan to incorporate this source into your paper?
Each annotation should include three to five sentences in paragraph format. Sources should be listed in alphabetical order, and annotations should be located underneath the source. Unlike the extended example below only one solid paragraph that summarizes, evaluates, and reflects is required for each entry. You should have three annotations for scholarly, or academic, resources.
