– The United States is not even near the top ranking of healthcare systems performance ranking in the world. The US spends $3 trillion per year in healthcare, which is $9,000 per person, per year. Canada spends $242 billion and the United Kindom spends £197.4 billion per year. Canada and the UK spend about half as much per person and 10% or less of their gross domestic product on healthcare. The US relies most on market justice where the UK relies more on social justice and Canada is somewhere between them. The US uses the federal programs Medicare and Medicaid which provides for individuals in designated groups that are below the federal poverty level. Canada also has Medicare, but Canadian Medicare provides healthcare coverage for approximately 70% of Canadians’ healthcare needs. In the UK, there’s a state-funded system called the National Health Service, which guarantees care for all, everything is paid for with payroll taxes but costs are greater than Canada’s but less than the US. Compared to Canada and the United Kingdom, the US has a higher percentace of citizens uninsured, our system is more complex for paitents and providers and costs way more to administer.

The UK healthcare system has administrative cost greater than Canada, and is less than United States.
