MINE:

The job advertisement that I found was for a food & beverage waiter/waitress for a restaurant in California. The high resort in California advertised for a job that required one to have undergone excellent training in the hospitality sector. The other requirements that the advertisement necessary is that the applicant was fluent in English and had experience in working with either Four seasons hotel or the Riz Carlton. Since this is an international restaurant, the application of the job required that the participants showed a personality that would enable them to benefit from the global encounter.

In contrast to the job advertisements that are published in the various sources, this job advertisement relies on the technological platforms for the applicants to respond to the post which is opposed to the practice that is carried out in the other published sources that mainly depend on phones (Voorveld et al., 2028). The content that is offered in the two is the other notable difference where job advertisement on the websites incorporates less detailed guidelines as opposed to the information that is provided in the job advertised in the published sources. The minimal information in the online sources is meant to give the applicants a chance to confirm with other online sources, as opposed to the published sources that have to provide all the needed details.

The improvement that needs to be made in the job advertisement above is to ensure that the organization that is offering employment includes the terms of employment as well (Berman et al., 2020). This improvement will make the applicants have an insight on the terms and conditions that govern their employment. Although some people may argue against the inclusion of the compensation that the employees will be offered, it is essential that the job advertisement includes the expected compensation for the employees.

I searched for three job postings utilizing the platforms Indeed, USAJobs, and Twitter. On Indeed, I found a job posting for a Whole Foods Shopper. The posting lists the job title, salary, location, job description, applicant qualifications, and length of time from application to projected start date. I believe this posting is simple and to the point and simplifies the application process for the job seeker. The job posting also possesses a disclaimer stating the essential nature of the company and job role, which is important to address during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second job posting I found was for an Information Technology Specialist for the Department of Energy. The job posting was found at usajobs.gov, and listed the application window, salary, appointment type, pay scale and grade, and service (i.e. competitive vs. non-competitive). The job posting continues by providing the job requirements, location(s) of the position, and travel requirements. I believe this job posting is misleading, because it will make job seekers assume that all individuals are eligible to apply. The pay scale for the job is a GS 12-15, and unfortunately, without knowing the qualifications to merit the pay scale, applicants may waste their time applying to something they are not qualified for.

The final job posting I found was for Amazon enterprise-wide which was found on Twitter. The tweet contained a link to an article posted on the Wall Street Journal’s (WSJ) website. The article listed the amount of positions Amazon was looking to fill, how the company was able to thrive during the pandemic, the job roles available, and the link to apply. This posting was different from the other two, because it was not a traditional online job posting; instead, it was more of an information piece.
