I do not have cleaning supplies that contains enzymes. An enzyme is a substance that is produced by a living organism, which acts as a catalyst to have a specific biochemical reaction on things. Enzymes are used in the industry for different reasons such as the improvement in the product or ease of production. Uses of enzymes in the food industry are to process carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Lactase is an enzyme used to break complex sugars into simple sugars. It can also be used to breakdown starch and cellulose into simple sugars such as glucose. Lactase can be intolerant to some individuals as it is used to break lactose sugars from food.
Lactase is the main sugar found in breast milk. It is very important for the normal health and development for babies. Babies’ digestive systems are made to survive on breast milk alone. They produce lactase in large amounts and are rarely lactose-intolerance. A lactose-intolerant individual cannot properly digest lactose and can experience symptoms if they do digest it. Those symptoms are diarrhea, gas, bloating, and cramping.
