University of Central Florida Six Sigma Method Discussion

The Six-Sigma method is a process-driven management technique based on various procedures whose goal is to drive down defect rates by establishing six standard deviations between the process mean and the closest specification limit. This is commonly achieved by integrating define, measure, analyze, improve and control procedures (also known as DMAIC) that aim to improve process capability. Since its inception in the 1980’s, Six Sigma methodology has been widely integrated into various domains of industry ranging from manufacturing to healthcare and has been vastly successful in driving down operating costs and improving the quality of goods and services produced.

In the development of our certification program, our team has instituted the Six-Sigma approach in hopes of increasing pass rates, industry-wide acceptance and process capability. We hope to achieve this all while meeting accreditation standards, minimizing costs/fees to the customer and providing professionals with a certification that will prove to be an asset in their careers.
