Create a first draft of the original table or figure that will be included in your final paper.

f you create a figure, it must be able to stand on its own, e.g., the meaning of the figure is clear, axes (if included) are labeled, and a caption is included that describes the information included in the figure. All literature sources that contributed to the figure are referenced in the caption. AT LEAST two literature sources must be cited.

If you create a table, it must be able to stand on its own, e.g., the table columns are completely labeled, and a caption is included that describes the information included in the table. At least FOUR rows of data, from four separate sources, must be included in the table. All literature sources contributing to the table must be cited in a separate table column.

Finally, draft a sentence to be included in the body of your final paper that refers to the information included in the table or figure. For example, “Multiple studies have shown that individuals reporting high stress levels also tend to suffer from poor oral hygiene (Table 1).”
