My topic selection is: The advancing of the Civil Rights movement of the 50’s and 60’s.

Moreover, the courts’ role in advancing Civil Rights. Essentially, my research will look at Supreme Court jurisprudence and some of the infamous Civil Rights decisions handed down during the Civil Rights movement. Official Supreme Court briefs will provide much of my research, and in the jurisprudence of the Court is looking at the issue. Moreover, I will analyze Brown v. Board of Education (1954) and assess the impact this decision had on regressing Civil Rights advancements in the American South. As well as, other notibly civil rights events.

  • Each annotation must include a full, properly formatted Chicago or APA citation and one to two complete paragraphs explaining the basic argument the work makes and the type of evidence used to prove this thesis
  • Bibliographies must contain at least 9 sources, including a variety of primary and secondary sources, including two full-length books from reputable academic presses, five primary sources, and articles from at least three scholarly, academic journals. A diversity of credible sources, includng selected documentaries and interviews are suggested.
  • Wikipedia, Answers.com, encyclopedias, dictionaries and non-professional web sites are not accepted sources.
  • All bibliographies are to be written in Microsoft Word or RTF, double-spaced, with no more than 1.25” margins, using standard 12 point font.
