UCF Validation to The Certificate Examinations Reflection Essay

Paragraph 1:

To ensure that the experts that will be helping to add validation to our certification exams we will need to filter these experts to they understand the proper knowledge and have the proper qualifications to bring in the body of knowledge to the exam. The first step to doing this will be to add a process that will test their knowledge and qualifications against the current relevant industry. The next step that will need to be added is clarifying which experts are suited to be helping the board create the questions and content that will be on the exam. Things such as certifications from other similar fields, years of knowledge in the industry of the exam, and personal work with designing certification exams are some of the things that are greater suggested. Other things that should be checked on is their background and field history, these can often tell if a person is trustworthy and whether they will invalidate the exam by revealing the contents to an outside source. These changes will be added to decrease the risk that experts will bring in irrelevant or misleading information and to help reduce the number of untrustworthy experts that will compromise the integrity of the exam by leaking questions and answers for personal gain.

Paragraph 2:

To ensure that personal belongings do not get lost we have added changed the proctoring exam process to include steps that will ensure that the belongings will be stored in a secure and visible place. Changing these processes will also ensure an accurate interpretation of the exam process from the time that participants come into the room to the time they leave, and the proctor submits the exam to the board of certification. Assuming the participants have already entered the testing area they will have their personal belongings collected and will be asked to turn all their electronic devices off. They will then be seated in their predesignated locations from the board of certification seating chart either in alphabetical order or in such a way that will remove the possibility to have people seated next to someone they know. They will then be issued an exam and be asked to wait for the proctors predetermined instructions to ensure all the participants have the same amount of time. After listening to the proctor’s instructions, they will begin the exam while the proctors ensure that no exam taker is cheating or if they have any questions about formatting or personal requests then the proctor will answer them. By no means will the proctor be answering any questions regarding to content of the exam nor will the proctor allow for any potential use of electronic or cheating devices for the exam. After the proctor receives the exam from the participant they will retrieve and return the personal belongings to the respective participant. When all participants have finished, or the maximum time limit has been reached the proctor will collect the rest of the exams and submit them to the board of certification for grading and review.

Paragraph 3:

Other improvements that could be added to our team document is another process in the create exam questions process to review the exam questions with an outside company that specializes in exam questions or has information on the field knowledge. The precaution must be taken not to give the information away to a company that will save and release it to the public.

Another improvement that could be made is to add a process in the approve/reject candidates that looks at the background for similar certifications and other indicators on how well they will perform on the exam.
