2A. A/V user-generated comedy (Youtube, Vimeo, Vine, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, other social media platforms)

Please post three examples of what you’d consider comedy/humor found on YouTube, Vimeo or other user-generated A/V platforms.

For each sample, briefly describe your reasoning for selection, and attempt to categorize what type/sub-genre of humor(s) it is, as well as how you came across the piece. Also include a link to the sample (or embed it in the assignment field).

Try to find three different types of comedy for your samples.

In particular, try to focus on user-generated/amateur/underground/cult materials, not simply popular TV-shows or films reposted (e.g. Seinfeld, Simpsons, South Park), unless there has been a substantial reworking or remixing of the commercial/popular material.

Also, note that it doesn’t consciously have to be a “humor” piece; you may well find something humorous that was posted in earnest.

2B. Music/Sound/Aural Comedy

Please post an example of humor/comedy in music or sound (it can also be a spoken example, though I encourage people to consider non-verbal examples).

As with the A/V user-generated comedy assignment, include source annotation as well as a brief statement concerning your reasons for selecting your example. Also consider what sub-genre(s) of comedy your selection may belong to.

2C. Comedic Image/Graphic Design

Please post an image/cartoon/illustration/photograph/meme that you find comedic/humorous; again, please include a brief annotation regarding why you selected the image, its source, and what sub-genre(s) of humor it represents.

2D. Text-based/Literary Comedy

Please submit an example of text-based humor; this may be fiction, non-fiction, poetry — e.g. essay or article, short story, excerpt from a novel or longer work, a joke). Include link, as well as how you came across the work and your reasoning for selection.
