Tampa University Social Media Use and Its Connection to Mental Health Article Discussion

A. Find THREE peer-reviewed journal articles of research studies (not literature reviews)that closely relate to the class manuscript assignment study. You will need to select studies that help to support the need for the study like the one we are conducting in class. You will be including information from these articles later when writing your Introduction, so be sure to save the articles and be thorough in the information you provide.

B. Complete the following items and post to Blackboard in the Background Journal Article assignment field.

1. For each of these background articles, type, in correct APA-style, its citation. See example below:

Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of article. Title of Periodical, volume number (issue number), pages.

2. For each of the articles, complete the following:

a) What was the research question(s) these authors were seeking to address?

b) What were the tools (or scales) the authors used to gather their data? Briefly describe what each tool (scale) is designed to assess.

c) Was the hypothesis supported? In your answer, note some of the main statistical findings and P values, as you may need to include them in your introduction. Be specific.

d)Include a two-sentence summary of the overall findings of the article. Add a third sentence indicating how it is related to our class study and how is supports a need to further look at the variables used in our class study.
