ow that you have increased your self-knowledge and understanding of your vocational values, interests, skills, and personality traits, it’s time for you to select a potential career of interest to research, which this Career Research Paper assignment will give you the opportunity to do.

Your assignment for this career research paper is to choose a career of interest to research and summarize (meaning to paraphrase, NOT to plagiarize) in DETAILS. At the very least, you should include the following information about your chosen career: 1) Duties & Responsibilities, 2) Work Environment, 3) Education, Skills & Training Requirements, 4) Salary & Job Outlook, 5) Similar/Related Occupations, and 6) Additional Info. You should use the above headings in your paper to clearly delineate these information (see paper format example below). Note: Job outlook refers to the possible growth or lack off for the profession in the future. Again, do NOT plagiarize this portion of the paper. Read the info and then summarize it AND CITE the source of the info for EVERY paragraph you write! Refer to the information on citing sources for research paper mentioned earlier. Plagiarized paper will automatically receive an “F” grade.

Also, include within the paper at least a 1-page ANALYSIS of your researched career: Based on your research, are you still interested in the career and why? Does the career seem to match your work values, personality type, interests, and motivated skills, and explain in DETAILS whether the chosen career is, or is not in line with your values, personality traits, interests and motivated skills? What skills do you need to develop to be successful in this career? What are the key professional associations/organizations for this profession? What is the educational pathway to this career? What would be your next steps or plan to eventually go into this career? Etc.

Note: Make sure you spend adequate amount of time writing your analysis, which I weighed significantly. This is where you synthesize and analyze what you have learned about yourself from doing the assessments—your vocational values, interests, personality traits, and skills—and your career research and analyze whether the career you have researched would be a good fit for you based on your needs, desires, values, interests, skills and personality traits and preference. You will actually need to use your critical thinking skills for this ANALYSIS portion of the paper. Again, don’t neglect or rush through this part of the paper. Do a thoughtful and thorough job because I will grade it heavily!

This research paper MUST BE TYPED, 1.5 single-spaced, minimum 3-4 pages long. Again, CITE the source of the info for EVERY paragraph you write, and include a bibliography at the end of the paper, using MLA-style (http://www.easybib.com/ (Links to an external site.)) for books, websites, databases, etc. of resources used for the paper. Delineate the info of the paper with topic headings (see sample below). Your paper must include at least 2 resources.
