Paper instructions : The analysis will collect data such as photographs

of five mosques that are designed according to local styles and

vernacular architecture, both the exterior and interior as well as the

context to record information such as the architectural style of the

mosque, the historical period they associate with, materials used in

construction, possible constructors and builders of the mosque,

condition of the buildings.
The case studies will consist of five

mosques starting with the historical and oldest, Al Ruwais Mosque,

Fuwairit mosque, Al Shamal mosque, until some of the latest projects

such as Imaam Mohammed Ibn Abdul-Wahhab, and Al Fozan mosque in

Msheireb.

The objectives of this thesis will be

approached through precedent studies of five mosque projects in Qatar,

in a chronological manner starting with older mosques from early-mid

20th century until today. The case studies will be conducted on mosques

from different municipalities in Qatar, on the north, south and center

of the country. The municipalities have different qualities and

population rates, this will present similarities in the post occupancy

evaluation
