Question Description
The final project consists of working through a real-world case scenario. Your objective is to apply various structured analytical techniques that we have covered over the course of the semester. The final project will have two deliverable components. The first is a PowerPoint presentation of your case. The second is a written report, covering the structured analytical techniques used, and the conclusions that you reached in your case. Youshould use an Analysis of Competing Hypothesis, whereby you determine the most likely hypothesis. Formats for both deliverables will be provided.
You may choose any of the three cases provided. After selection, you should thoroughly read it, and begin researching for outside resources. For some cases, political or geo-political context may be extremely helpful in better understanding the dynamics surrounding your case. Of the three cases, two remain unsolved to this day.
All cases should utilize the following structured analytical techniques:
1. Brainstorming and/or Starbursting
2. Key Assumptions Check
3. Chronology and/or timeline and/or map. (These techniques may be more beneficial in some cases than others. It is up to you to determine which best suits your case.)
4. Devils advocacy or 10th man rule
5. Analysis of Competing Hypothesis.
Written report format (should be a minimum of six pages)
1. Brief overview of your case.
2. Structured analytical techniques used, and the results from each. This section may also include your KAC chart/timeline/chronology/map, etc.
3. Analysis of Competing Hypothesis chart.
4. Results.
