In this discussion, you will apply the wise choice process to improve a difficult situation in your life. Think about a current problem, one that you are comfortable sharing with your classmates and teacher. As a result of this problem, you may be angry, sad, frustrated, depressed, overwhelmed, or afraid. Maybe the problem relates to a job, a relationship, money, or your grades. This process helps you make an empowering choice in any part of your life.

Answer these 6 questions:

1. What is my present situation? Describe the problem objectively.
2. How would I like my situation to be? What is the ideal future outcome?
3. What are my possible choices? Create a list of possible options.
4. What is the likely outcome of each possible choice? Gather some information on the possible outcomes.
5. Which choice(s) will I commit to doing? Pick one form your list in step 3.
6. When and how will I evaluate my plan? Identify a specific date and criteria by which you will determine the success of your plan.
