Imagine that you are a consultant who has been hired by the Chief Compliance Officer of a multi-facility heath system to assist in the evaluation of the organizations current enterprise-wide coding compliance plan. Over the past several years, the health system has undergone many changes which include the acquisition of several hospitals and outpatient clinics and implementation of a remote based coding program. In evaluating and recommending processes for compliance with laws and standards related to coding and revenue cycle, address the following questions in your initial discussion response:

1. Who would recommend be involved in the evaluation process and why?
2. What resources would you recommend for research and reference?
3. What are some action items that you would recommend to be included in the coding compliance plan, and what would they aim to achieve?
