HUM 2020 University of Central Florida Hebrew Judaism and Christianity Journal Reflection

For each of this week’s three chapters (“The Postcards”, “Two Cultures” and “The Middle Ages”) write a 1 paragraph reflection.

1. For “The Postcards”- What would you do if you suddenly began getting letters in the mail (or email) from individuals whom you have never met, yet mention you as if they know you vividly? How would you feel? Would you be frightened the way Sophie and Joanna are? Would you be angry? Confused? What would you do and why? Would you start to think something inexplicable was happening? Something out of your control?
2. For “Two Cultures”- review the following power point slides on Judaism and Christianity and reflect in a minimum of 1 paragraph on the interconnected relationship between these two religions.

3. For “The Middle Ages”, review the following power point slides on the Middle Ages, but specifically reflect in a minimum of 1 paragraph the section of this chapter in which St. Augustine discusses how he saw no contraction between Christianity and the philosophy of Plato. Do you agree? Why or why not?
