Reflect on what you have learned about TB history and TB treatment today.

• What can we learn from the holistic approach to health and wellbeing that was used by sanatoriums treating TB and other chronic diseases in the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries? What did sanatoriums do well, and what did they do that would be considered problematic today?
• How would DOTS (or other treatment regimens) work for you if you were diagnosed with TB today? What would happen if you were not compliant with treatment? (The answer to both of these questions will be dependent on where you live. Different nations, states, and localities have different rules. You may need to look up the relevant websites.)
• How does globalization (one of the key “systems” when we think about the “history and systems” of global health) contribute to the emergence of AMR? How might globalization processes contribute to solutions for AMR? Is it reasonable to assume that future technologies will be able to save humankind from emerging global public health threats?
