Advanced Practice Nurses Interventions in Current Health System

Healthcare is one of the most important agendas to be prioritized and to be focused on starting from individual level to the country level where the government is involved. This is because healthcare seeks to improve our immune systems and also reduce or regulate mortality rates. There are various differences between the US healthcare system and the UK healthcare system. In addition, there is a lot that should be changed in order to have a better US healthcare system than it is currently (Wilson & Khansa, 2018).

In the US, it’s an hybrid system where there is both private and public funding, just like in UK, I would advocate the use of public “socialized medicine “ system which is funded publicly through taxes and availed to everyone including complex and expensive medical procedures including surgeries and chemotherapy. The US health system is financed from private insurances, general taxation, payroll taxes, and beneficiary premiums (Zaman & Hossain, 2017). I would suggest for the National Health Service which is a common type of public insurance, funded by the government for all citizens, because it has a centralized leadership, which is efficient and easier to manage.

The US spends a lot of money per person on healthcare compared to the UK (Papanicolas et al., 2018), which is a proof of quality medical care provided but as well I would recommend the central governship way of managing medical funds, because this accumulates all moneys set aside for a country’s healthcare and this will also lead to provision of quality healthcare but cheaper person so that the remainder of the money is allocated for other reasons within the health ministry. Due to private funding in the US, there is some percentage of individuals lacking healthcare insurance, just like the UK, I would recommend the centralized governing of healthcare system which does not only provide healthcare to all citizens freely but ensures that all of the citizens have an healthcare insurance cover.

However, we, the citizens, haven’t been making some considerations when electing our political leaders, because we tend to forget the best category of contestants for such slots who are Advanced Nurses (Woodward et al, 2016). There are many reasons for which I would recommend for advanced nurses: they are trained, compassionate, reliable, and they are able to explain classified health issues. These professionals can help decrease the number of medical mistakes, increase the chances of citizens accessing health care and also recognize the best financial breakdown on healthcare bills.
