For this assignment, you will need to use the following scenarios/settings:
- Use the in-class assignment as your base for creating a meeting agenda. Given your two experiences meeting with a group- first a larger one, and then a smaller one- determine what needs to be covered and what can be covered in the given amount of time.
- Meeting time: 1 hour meeting
- Purpose: To determine if you are from Mars, how do you build a house?
If you were not in class:
- Use an actual work or school meeting
- Write an agenda for the meeting
- Take notes during the meeting and prepare meeting minutes based on your notes
- Use a class lecture
- Take notes during the class lecture
- Write up an agenda and minutes based on the class lecture
- If option 1 & 2 are impossible for you, then your last resort would be to create an agenda for a brown bag meeting (Links to an external site.) for a meeting with a representative of your organization- the organization you will be completing a communication audit.
Assignment Requirements:
Prepare an Agenda and a set of Meeting Minutes. In this instance, your meeting minutes are a re-cap of your in-class assignment experience– what worked? What didn’t work? What would you differently? How would the meeting be more functional? Were you able to reach your goal? Please submit one document (one document/file, with two pages) for the assignments.
If you arent using a real meeting, then you will need to answer the same questions for the meeting minutes, but forecasting how it will help the meeting, what is it that you intend to get out of the meeting with the agenda you set up, why should it be done this way, etc. Include any information that would be part of a normal meeting.
Your 50-points will be evaluated in the following way:
- Correctly formatted Agenda — 20 points
- Concisely yet thorough and properly formatted Minutes — 20 points
- Free of grammatical and spelling errors — 10 points (-1 point for each error)
