What perspective on or insight into the natural world and the place of human beings in it does the poem convey?

How does the way in which Dietz develops her poem, stanza by stanza, help express or communicate that perspective/insight? (You can of course include references to or statements about the poem’s imagery in your response to this question, but be sure to focus chiefly on development as you answer it.)
