You have now completed a Talk-to and adopted a number of different perspectives on your context analysis draft. Creating critical distance from our work with tools like the Talk-to can help us gain insight into our writing projects when peer review is not possible.

Purpose

In this journal entry, you have the opportunity to reflect on the results of your Talk-to and what it means for your subsequent context analysis revision activities.

Tasks

• Your journal entry should describe some general revision directions indicated by your Talk-to. What stands out from your experience doing the activity? With the critical distance you generated, what seems like it needs to be changed in your context analysis draft?
• Your entry should sketch a basic revision plan for the context analysis. Given the necessary revisions you just identified, what steps will you need to take to do a revision of your draft?

Note: there are many different ways to approach these tasks, but you should aim to be as thorough as possible in your response (approximately 500 words is a good target length).

Criteria for Success

In each Writer’s Journal, you should:

• clearly address each question or task;
• employ many details, examples, and explanations in answering each question or task; and,
• create an internally-organized text, employing sentences (or notes where applicable) that clearly relate to one another.

Be sure to follow all the submission instructions carefully and to assess your journal immediately after you submit it.
