EC Human Resources Checking out The Web Tandfonline Website Analysis Discussion
Question Description
Checking out the Web
Back in the Stone Ages, when I was just a kid, about the only place to get information was out of a book at the library. I was recently visiting my relatives, and one of my nieces, who is seven years old, wanted me to look at a paper she was writing about the moon for her class at school. She led me off to her room, and fired up her computer. First she showed me the paper in her word processing program. I asked a question about some information she had included. She rolled her eyes, flipped over to Google, and found the source of her facts in less than 30 seconds.
These days, information is everywhere, and you need to harness its power. Using the web well opens doors to success in every field.

The impact of the computer and related technology on the human resource function over the last 25 years has been dramatic, and in many ways, revolutionary. There has hardly been an aspect that has not undergone significant change.
WEBSITE ANALYSIS: For this assignment, you are asked to find and report on at least four websites that relate to performance management/performance appraisal/career management. In your report, you must review each website in terms of the quality and usefulness of the information for the HR professional or manager. Your report should be 2-4 pages in length and written in APA style.
Your report should consider:
- Have you identified and included the link to at least four unique websites?
- Have you provided a review of each website that notes its strengths and weaknesses in the information presented from the perspective of an HR professional?
- Is information from the textbooks and other sources integrated into your analysis appropriately? For all sources, you must provide complete citations.
- Is the paper professionally presented? Remember your audience. It is important to present your information as clearly and succinctly as possible. (Do not sacrifice thoroughness for mere brevity.) Please proofread carefully for grammar and spelling errors.

You may resubmit your assignment through this dropbox as many times as you need to check to see if you have made improvements, until the due date of the assignment. However, once you have made your first submission, you will need to wait 24 hours after each subsequent submission to receive a new Originality Report. Plan accordingly as you draft your assignment.
