CUNY Bronx Effects of Stress on Health Concerning Trauma Discussion

This discussion focuses on disorders associated to stress and trauma. After reading the sections on stress and its effects on health, I’d like for you to listen to a Ted-Talk on how childhood experiences affect our psychological health throughout our lifetime.

For this discussion:

1) Give your reaction to the talk by Dr. Nadine Burke Harris.

2) In addition, discuss factors that influence how an adjustment reaction and/or acute stress disorder can lead to the more serious diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

3) While this should be a relatively “stress-free” discussion, I do want you to mention the types and severity of stressors that go into each of the diagnoses discussed in chapter 4.
