The e-commerce industry is booming with a projected growth of 599.2 billion USD by 2024, and Amazon is the worlds largest online retailer. They have set the standard for customer-oriented websites and a lean supply chain, selling over 4,000 items a minute. Therefore, why not discuss the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for them. KPIs are vital in understanding the companys success. Since every company or industry is different, the KPI should be tailored to match the needs of the company and the financial health and performance.
Of course, the most critical KPIs to measure the financial performance for a company are net profit, net profit margin, gross profit margin, operating profit margin, revenue growth rate, etc. But for Amazon, KPIs like sales conversion rates, product ratings and reviews, and customer response rates are at the top.
Sales conversion rates if people visit your page and purchase the product, it says a lot about how high-quality your listing is. The struggle may be real when having your product on the first page to view and be purchased. Having to make sure that overall product quality and avoiding problems will be the key to product rating.
Anyone who has consistent reviews and is four stars and above should not have problems, but those who have a handful of bad reviews will need to improve the quality or service of the product.
Also, the customer response rate is vital as the rate at which the seller responds to the product related questions and queries will show high-quality performance on the Amazon platform.
