According to Cunningham and Cunningham (2017), “Fossil fuels (oil, coal and natural gas) presently provide around 80 percent of the energy used in industrialized countries” (p. 7) and the United States and Europe have less than 15 percent of the worlds population, but these regions consume about half of the worlds metals, food, energy, and other resources (p. 12). Given this data, do you believe the United States government has an ethical obligation to address climate change? Please make clear your position on this issue and explain your reasoning.
In your discussion section, you may choose to explain the science of climate change and/or consider ethical issues that relate to consumption, energy, future generations, the economy, the environment, or sustainability.
In your recommendation, you may also include your own alternative recommendation(s).
Format: Your response must be in memorandum format, including To, From, Subject and Date headings, and span approximately 1.50-2.0 pages. Please conclude with a Recommendation heading. Times Roman/12-point font. Single-space with a blank line between paragraphs.
