At the end of the case study, all the data was collected and presented to the hospital administrator. In the final result, it showed that the employees and visitors were purchasing the same amount in the cafeteria, but they were choosing the healthier food choices (Perrin, 2015, p. 27). As an administrator of a large hospital, they are responsible for promoting and improving the health of all the employees and ensuring that they are making healthier food choices.

However, if the results in the case study was different and employees were spending less money in the cafeteria and were not making better food choices, the next step as a hospital administrator would be to create a program that can help prevent employees from making unhealthy food choices. This program can help employees to make changes in their diet and also help them to create a healthy eating plan to follow daily. Another step that a hospital administrator can take is to create an awareness campaign that can help educate employees and increase their awareness about the negative effects of not making healthy food choices. The good thing about a campaign is that it can help provide employees with important information on anything that has to do with making better food choices. Overall, by creating a program and an awareness campaign, they can help to promote and improve the health of the employees. Because of this, the chance of the employees spending more money in the cafeteria and making better food choices will most likely increase.

Hello everyone,

In general, it’s good to promote healthier food options especially in a work setting environment, where an employee spends most of their time at work during the week. As an administrator of a hospital, it’s their responsibility to look over their employee’s well-being and the entire hospital staff. The administrator wanted to offer better and healthier food choices for their employees. Volunteers were taken from the clinical, financial, administrative, and environmental departments to help conduct the study. The committee collected all the data about the most popular food and the least popular choices the cafeteria had to offer. Due to the decrease of sodium and sugar items, the volunteers and the visitors were consuming healthier options due to the reduction of sodium and sugar.

The employees will spend less money by consuming fast food such as burgers, fries, pizza, preservatives, and more glucose. It’s always cheaper, and people or employees that are not able to afford better food choices. Being a hospital administrator, I would get rid of sodas, chips, burgers, pizza, and other not healthy options, and substitute for natural drinks such as lemonade, infused fruit water, and offer wraps, pitta bread, and other healthier options will decrease the amount of fast food the hospital is selling to their employees. As an administrator, I will meet the goal to offer better food options to my employees and, at the same time, helping them make better food options. Another data collection I would take would give employees healthy food options to choose from that would benefit them and the entire hospital staff and visitors. This will help me get better evaluations of what could be offered to those who would like to have better food choices and help the hospital maintain its budget.
