Meets expectations: Paper demonstrates satisfactory effort in examination and reflection of the components of the given questions. While the student seems to understand the subject matter and accomplishes the assignment adequately, connections are unclear.

Does not meet expectations: Paper demonstrates little effort in examination and reflection of the key components of the given questions.

Exceeds expectations: Student evidences nuanced use of outside research, including resources beyond the class text. Outside information is incorporated into the student’s paper.

Meets expectations: Student uses research but does not adequately incorporate sources into the paper.

Does not meet expectations: Student does not evidence any use of outside sources in the paper.

Exceeds expectations: There are very few mechanical problems and the paper represents superior effort.

Meets expectations: Style represents some grammatical, spelling and/or mechanical errors.

Does not meet expectations: Paper is unacceptable because it has numerous stylistic or organizational problems, is submitted in an incomplete form or is plagiarized.

Exceeds expectations: The presentation content displays extensive knowledge of the research and literature; depth is provided in illustrations and the ramifications of the topic are detailed. Content aids in assisting the viewer with seeing the connection between the topic and the viewers’ role.

Meets expectations: The presentation content displays a good working knowledge of the content area and related research related to the topic. The viewer is able to see why the case is important to understand.

Does not meet expectations: The presentation content shows some knowledge of the research/literature; little amplification/depth is provided which further detracts from any connection the viewer feels with the topic.

Exceeds expectations: The AV/PowerPoint used in the presentation aid in communicating the story being relayed in the presentation and do not distract the person listening to or viewing the presentation. The AV aids listener in making a connection between themselves and the content being explained.

Meets expectations: The AV/PowerPoint mostly contributes to the clear communication of the presentation. At times the audio and/or video may distract the individual listening to the presentation.

Does not meet expectations: If any AV/PowerPoint is used it distracts or is poor in quality. The audio or video seem misplaced or simply reads the slides to the viewer.

Exceeds expectations: The presentation is well-organized; the key ideas are highlighted with supporting details/examples; an opening and closing are evident; all required components are clearly evident.

Meets expectations: The topic is presented in an organized way following the presentation template.

Does not meet expectations: The presentation has some organization, but may skip around; few details/examples are provided; most of the required components are evident.
