Fabiana Wester, 69 years of age, suffered a stroke on the right side of her brain five months ago. She is recovering but still experiencing muscle weakness on the left side of her body and struggling with balance and body movements. Then, eight weeks ago, Fabiana tripped over her dogs toy basket and fractured her ankle.
Her physician cleared her for light activity as the ankle fracture has healed. As Fabianas personal trainer, you meet with her to address some key information, which will help you and your client over the upcoming weeks and months, when training her.
In your PowerPoint presentation,
- Explain how two features (i.e., muscles, nerves, bones, joints, or other important structures) of the muscular, skeletal, articular, and neural systems are most likely affected by Fabianas stroke and ankle fracture. (In total, you will explain eight featurestwo features per system. Use appropriate terminology and your course text for support at a minimum.)
- Assess how Fabianas recent stroke is impacting the function of her muscular, skeletal, articular, and neural systems. (You must address each system and support your assessment with two scholarly, peer reviewed, or credible sources.)
- Evaluate three pathologies or concerns, one for the upper extremities, one for the lower extremities, and one for the trunk that Fabiana may be at higher risk for when performing day-to-day activities due to her age, recent stroke, and ankle fracture. (Support your evaluation with two scholarly, peer-reviewed, or credible sources.)
