Students will photographs these elements and put your Photographs into a PowerPoint and explain
their reasons for choosing these elements.
Students should make sure that they have examples that reflect each of the elements discussed in class.

In this week you will start to collect.
Number One. Artist are collector’s.
They collect real objects and images. They take photographs of things and use these as inspiration for their work. Exploring the world is what artists do regularly.
These are sweet potatoes that I was peeling. I liked the shapes so I stopped and photographed them.
Below is an artwork completely about collecting and comparing.
This piece by the artist Herman De Vies is actual leaves framed and watercolors matching the colors in the plants.
1. Your assignment starts with a walk and a notebook and a pencil and your camera.
2. Find things that catch your eye, collect and document them.
3. Explore the world around you.This is the beginning of your collecting .
4. Collect at least 10 things or images and put them into a PowerPoint explain why you were interested in these things. If your things are small you can collect them.
5. If you are comparing tree’s or anything big you will have to document it with photograph’s.
6. Remember terminology is important.
7. Why were these objects interesting to you?
