. Chapter 4 focuses on relationships and fostering a positive sense of self-worth. A.Think back to your childhood. 2. Not everyone will agree with all of the ideas and strategies shared in the video, “Bella’s Casa.” I personally value the philosophies that support Montessori Infant-Toddler Education. Even if you do not have a Montessori program in your area or if you do not work in a Montessori Program, Montessori methodologies are free for the asking as demonstrated in the video, “Bella’s Casa.” I included this video in Chapter 4 because the environment and the caregiver’s approach to encouraging independence and self-worth in terms of decision-making and autonomy were really quite remarkable. The more we do for children, the less they do for themselves. A. Share with the class and your instructor what you gained from this video. B. How will it influence your approach to teaching and caring for infants and toddlers in the future? Note: Each semester, I have noticed a growing number of home care providers and parents taking GBC Early Childhood Education classes. I wanted to make a concerted effort to provide information that will support their efforts in creating high-quality home care programs. Also, if you work in an infant/toddler classroom or center, many of the strategies and ideas presented in “Bella’s Casa” can be implemented in group settings.
