Purpose of Assignment:

The purpose of this assignment is to complete the Literature Review for the final project. The Literature Review is an important chapter in the research proposal. The Literature Review is a summary of current and relevant research related to the topic.

The Literature Review should be a follow up of the Introduction that you began in Module 2. It should support the research topics established in the Introduction. The Literature Review is where the bulk of the research articles are presented and analyzed concerning our topic of interest.

Transferable Skill: Information Literacy

Instructions: Complete a 2 to 3-page Literature Review. The Literature Review should begin with a wider focus and then quickly reduce in scope to cover relevant research that is directly related to the topic being researched. There may not be research that is directly related to the research topic but locating research as close to the topic is important. If directly related research cannot be located, this is further justification for the research. Check out the assignment resources for an example of a Literature Review.

Your Literature Review should include each of the following:

• Introduction
  • This is a concise definition of the topic to be covered.
• Main Body
  • It should examine the relevant, current literature surrounding your topic. This should start out discussing general literature on the topic and proceed to more specific references.
• Conclusion-This is a summary of the main ideas of the Literature Review.
• References- Include the references used in the Literature Review. These will be listed in the References portion of the Research Proposal.
